Characteristics of Graphs

Domain- is x values
Range- is y values
End behavior- describing the ends of a equation. The graph below is even degree with positive leading coefficient.

Absolute max/min- one point that is highest/lowest point on a graph




Local max/min- more then on point that are the highest/lowest points on a graph




Interval of increase-section of a where y values are increasing
Interval of decrease- section of a graph where x values are decreasing



X intercept- vertical line, where crosses x axis
Y intercept- horizontal line, where crosses y axis

Symmetry- Even there is symmetry about the y-axis (like a reflection)
                   Odd there is symmetry about the x axis
                   Neither there is no symmetry

Asymptotes-imaginary line that get closer but never touches the axis
Function-passes the vertical line test
One to One-passes the vertical and horizontal line test
